Power back up for the life-saving heart machine – Defibrillator

Rull Tech

Hospitals worldwide are required to have at least two backup solutions so that should one break down while the power is off, electrical equipment will continue operating. With power outages in South Africa, it is vital that all hospitals comply to continue operating.

An essential step in the treatment of SCA (Sudden Cardiac Arrest) is to provide a rapid shock to the heart. The shock to the heart is called defibrillation. In the event of a roadside or remote emergency, a machine known as an automated external defibrillator (AED) is used for resuscitation.  The AED must always have a charged power supply ready for quick action. There isn’t always a power source nearby, and so a reliable mobile power source is critical.

The FB12-2.3, when used with the defibrillator, ensures the life-saving machine delivers high powered shocks on demand. Forbatt batteries are a reliable and highly durable range of batteries suitable for such applications.
